Abstract

In this article the comparative analysis of basic learning style features of Russian and Ukrainian neo-paganism by their adepts on the basis of the journals “Rodnoverie” and “Svarog” is carried out, as journal periodicals, being designed rather to those who are followers of “Rodnoverie” is much more objective source. The objects of this study are sixteen sources which are not previously considered from this position. The authors conduct a comprehensive study of the specific content of journals, their evolution over time, nature of published materials, position of editors and other relevant factors. The findings show that the image of paganism stated by these journals is significantly different. In particular, the journal “Svarog” positions paganism as more than a nationalist movement, while the journal “Rodnoverie” acquires the features of “gentility”, almost loses its religious component. The emphasis is on cultural and historical vision, paganism is presented with national and community perspective. These observations correlate to some extent with the basic features of the perception of Russian and Ukrainian neo-paganism, which, in turn, confirms the thesis outlined in the beginning of this article.
