Abstract

The article dwells upon the problem of methodical preparation of future foreign language teachers to early-school foreign language teaching. It is noted that there have been positive trends in this area. The author stresses the necessity of introducing ethical issues in the educational process of higher school. The article also gives a brief overview of the disciplines in pedagogical universities, covering the issues of spiritual and moral values. It stresses both the importance of providing students with theoretical material on the subject and the importance of primary education for moral development of younger learners, as well as the urgency of formation of future teachers’ skills to spiritually educate pupils in the process of primary foreign language teaching. The analysis of the literature on the topic showed that the issues of formation of teacher’s readiness to spiritually-moral education of schoolchildren were studied in relation to different school subjects, however, were not sufficiently investigated in the field of foreign language education at primary school.
