Abstract

The article is devoted to existing language theories, particularly the issues related to the problems of teaching foreign languages, with special focus on teaching English Grammar. The author discusses famous modern theories of the language nature, which belong to N. Chomsky, St. Pinker, D. Bickerton; analyzes the advantages and drawbacks of traditional teaching practices, determines the most important stages in teaching and learning process; suggests that the discoveries of modern linguistic theory should be considered in language teaching.

В статье рассматриваются вопросы теории языка, связанные с проблемами обучения иностранным языкам, в частности, обучения грамматике английского языка. Автор строит свои рассуждения вокруг известных современных теорий о природе языка Н. Хомского, Ст. Пинкера и Д. Бикертона; рассматривает достоинства и недостатки традиционных методических подходов; предлагает алгоритм обучения грамматике, выделяя наиболее значимые этапы, предлагает учитывать открытия в современной теории языка при определении подходов в языковом образовании.
