The article deals with the interactive forms and methods of teaching a foreign language that promote the development of communicative and socio-cultural competences under professional-oriented training. It emphasizes the importance to form the personality of a university graduate as a professional, his ability to work both independently and in a team while solving the general set problem and demonstrating at the same time the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations in the group. Рассматриваются интерактивные формы и методы преподавания иностранного языка, способствующие развитию коммуникативной и социокультурной компетенции при профессионально-ориентированном обучении. Подчеркивается важность формирования личности выпускника вуза как профессионала, его умение работать как самостоятельно, так и в команде, решая общую поставленную проблему, проявляя при этом способность к установлению и поддержанию хороших межличностных отношений в группе. Основное внимание уделялось методам эмпирического исследования: наблюдению, сравнению, анализу.
