The paper discusses the need for a new approach for engineering curriculum design. The methodology of engineering curriculum design presented in this paper is elaborated with consideration of the modern trends in higher education development. The new methodology of engineering curriculum design takes into account the requirements of the accreditation criteria in engineering (the RAEE criteria, Graduate Attributes and Professional Competencies, EUR-ACE Framework Standards for the Accreditation of Engineering Programmes) and outcomes-based approach for programme design.
