Abstract

The authors draw the interim results of Russian education modernization looking more closely at background, implementation peculiarities and side effects of reforming process. In order to expose the importance of ideological component in education and to warn against sociological voluntarism they make insights into history and ethics retracing the rise of national character’s moral basics. The authors considered key stages of national pedagogy development marking in each of them the national educational traditions’ formation and enrichment, and have analyzed Soviet and modern education doctrines.
