Abstract

This paper gives insights to agricultural support policies in the federal system of Germany in the context of the agricultural policy of the European Union. The structure and design of federal and national programms as well as the objectives of agricultural policy and the requirements for the receiving farms are explained. Selected measures of the «Joint task program of the Federal government and the states for the improvement of the agrarian structure and the coastal protection (GAK)» for improvement of competitivness in markets and for compensation of income losses of dairy producers are shown as examples.
