Повышение компетентностного уровня информационно-библиотечных специалистов Научной библиотеки Дальневосточного федерального университета

Abstract

The role of university library staff in the task of information support of the educational, research and educational processes of the university is viewed there. The problems existing in the development of university libraries associated with insufficient funding for education programs, the lack of a system of methodical assistance to regional educational institutions by the Federal Centers for additional library education; the inaccessibility of the Federal and regional levels for the far East because of its remoteness are listed there. Some internal environment factors influencing the need for updating knowledge of library professionals are highlighted there. For the scientific library of the far eastern Federal University such a factor was the consolidation of the 2011 year libraries of four universities leading to revision of personnel skills improvement programmes. We summed up the results of questionnaire survey of the scientific library of the FEFU conducted in order to determine employee satisfaction level of their professional qualification, identifying the need for new forms of organization of the system of qualification and competence level improvement, determine the resource base, the specific proposals in the areas of library activity and information for that employees need informational and methodological support. Priority areas are identified: learning new features ILS VIRTUA, the library and information services in an electronic environment, electronic resources, cataloguing and systematization of documents, archaeography, organizing mass events with students. The multi-level system of library and informational personnel skills improvement existing in the scientific library of FEFU is discussing there.
