Abstract

The paper presents an innovative method of sociological research to determine the color preferences of the individual through the use of its main criteria. The method of mosaic allows the identification color preferences of a particular ethnic group by generalizing set associative representation of the colors and shades of its individual members. The effectiveness of the method is to obtain the most complete information not only about the color preferences of different peoples and color language of their ethnic culture, but also the personality of the individual striving to comprehend the «foreign» culture, which makes it particularly relevant to the stage of development and the strengthening of intercultural communication
