Abstract

The article considers the problem of spatial development of the Russian Federation, the policy for smoothing the spatial polarization and the polarized development policy, their strengths and weaknesses. The author suggests using information technologies as a tool of the regional economic policy that promotes a reduction in inter-regional differentiation and further development of regions through an increased innovation development.
