Abstract

Bringing up healthy generation and health maintenance in children are currently very topical issues. The involvement of primary school age children in sports groups is one of the ways to form their health. This paper is devoted to studying the health-improving strategy of the training process in young gymnasts. The sickness rate during a 6-month period and calculation of the physical health index of young gymnasts are presented. The following research methods were used: analysis and summarization of methodological literature, pedagogical tests, mathematical and statistical data processing, analysis of the sickness rate (record keeping on the number of training sessions missed because of illness). The positive effect of the health-improving strategy of the training process of young gymnasts on the reduction of the sickness rate was revealed. The results can be used by artistic gymnastics coaches.
