Abstract

Today the Russian system of higher technical education and the whole high school as such heads for the American system with bachelors and masters. Even the old technical universities with a deep and glorious history and great achievements in the training of specialists with higher technical education began to produce low-skilled specialists (bachelors) and masters, which professional status remains unclear. The authors make an attempt to restore the rightful place of the engineer in Russian history and practice, linking the development of engineering education with the development of technology. Related to this is the change in the content of an engineer's work, the emphasis being on intellectual activity, innovation, maintenance of the sphere of material production. Scientific achievements form a base for engineering creativity. Special features of engineering thinking as a type of professional thinking and the quality of engineering education are considered. The role of an engineer in modern society is discussed along with the efficiency of engineer activities and the quality of their training in technical universities. The main problems and contradictions of engineering activities are demonstrated.

Сегодня российская система высшего технического образования вслед за всей высшей школой вообще взяла курс на американское направление с его бакалаврами и магистрами. Даже старые технические вузы с глубокой и славной историей и великими заслугами в деле подготовки специалистов с высшим техническим образованием изменили себе и стали выпускать недоучек бакалавров и непонятных по статусу магистров. Авторы делают попытку восстановить законное место инженера в российской истории и практике, увязывая развитие инженерного образования с развитием техники. С этим связано изменение содержания труда инженера, упор делается на интеллектуальную деятельность, инновационную, техническое обслуживание сферы материального производства. Основой инженерного творчества являются достижения науки. Авторами рассмотрены особенности инженерного мышления как вида профессионального мышления, качество подготовки инженеров. Отмечена роль инженера в современном обществе, эффективность деятельности инженеров и качество их подготовки в технических вузах. Показаны основные проблемы и противоречия инженерной деятельности.
