Особенности восприятия собственной профессии учителями английского языка

Abstract

В связи с формулированием цели повышения качества образования возникает необходимость в изучении способов привлечения в преподавательскую профессию квалифицированных кадров, мотивов и факторов выбора профессии, удовлетворенности педагогической работой. Данное исследование посвящено выявлению восприятия собственной профессии учителями английского языка в школе в следующих аспектах: социальной привлекательности профессии, экономической составляющей профессии и содержания профессиональной деятельности. Выборка исследования составила 50 учителей английского языка из г. Перми и Пермского края. Результаты показывают, что преподаватели иностранного языка в школе положительно воспринимают собственную профессию в связи с характером и содержанием выполняемой работы, в то время как их восприятие экономической составляющей труда носит негативный характер. В статье также проанализирована зависимость восприятия собственной профессии учителями английского языка от возраста респондентов.

In order to meet the demands of a high quality educational system in the country it is necessary to examine the ways to attract qualified specialists into teaching profession, to analyze reasons and factors of choosing this profession, the level of job satisfaction. The article deals with the perception of English language teaching profession by secondary school teachers of English on the basis of its social and economicattractiveness as well as nature of work. The participants were 50 secondary school teachers of English from the city of Perm and Perm Kray. Survey results demonstrate that though respondents find the nature of work and English teaching content appealing, there is a negative perception of economic conditions associated with the teaching profession. The article examines the relationships between perception of English language teaching profession and the age of the respondents.
