Abstract

The article represents the results of the survey devoted to the academic performance of the students in the pedagogical university and their split-level individual psychological characteristics. The obtained data prove the presence of close correlations among the Unified State Examination scores, students’ academic progress with field independence, general mental abilities, strengthening of sensory perceptual method of information processing, decreasing of automatization in cognitive functions, self regulation indexes. The structures of male and female correlations have conspicuous specificity. The results of the survey testify the necessity of taking into consideration split-level individual characteristics of students while their studying in the university.
