Abstract

The topical problem of school leavers' adaptation to the system of higher education is analysed in the study. Some attempts to prove that the development of a personality's adaptive capability should be an object of school education are made. One of the conditions for the development of the adaptive capability is found the personality-oriented educational process. It activates the internal motivation, contributes to the development of students' independence by involving them in the process of goal setting and assessment, provides an opportunity to choose both the content and the form of educational activity.
