Представлены результаты историко-педагогического исследования «вопроса пола» в отечественном образовании и педагогике на протяжении двух веков (XVIII начало XX в.). Последовательно характеризуются ключевые социокультурные предпосылки трансформации, выделяются этапы и периоды, подчеркиваются направления и тенденции изменений.
