Abstract

The article describes the advantages of foreign languages distance testing compared to traditional forms of controlling students' academic activity at non-linguistic higher educational institutions. Test samples demonstrate different fulfilling technologies. The author explains the reasons for further developing both testing programmes for the control of foreign language knowledge, skills and abilities and compiling specialized textbooks to prepare students for testing. The author also makes an attempt to prognosticate further implementation of high technologies in the field of distance testing.
