Abstract

The material for this research were 100 depressive patients (78 female and 22 male) that fit the diagnostic criteria for affective disorder in the ICD-10 (F3). The principal inclusion criterion condition was presence of somatic problems in different organs and systems though not active at the moment of investigation. The results show that a decreased level of social functioning in these patients is directly linked to the profile of their depressive condition, the previous presence of affective problems and the degree of premorbid involvement of their somatic sphere. The clinical-psychopathological profile of depressive condition seems to play the most important role in the impaired social functioning.
