Abstract

This article presents the results of modern youth research according to V. P. Serkin’s psychosomatic differential "Lifestyle". The cognitive (self-awareness, ideas), emotional (relationships, experiences), age, ethno-cultural and professional features of Baikal region youth’s world image were studied for the first time. It was proved that structural and substantial characteristics of world image had been determined by value-semantic features of youth. The semantic space of youth’s world image and its main semantic spheres were disclosed. This study extends ethno-cultural representations of young people’s world image in terms of traditional values. The professional specificity of youth’s world image was shown. Also youth lifestyle factors were highlighted. First of all the study showed differences in the results of three groups obtained by methods of psychosemantics in semantic description of structural and substantial characteristics of youth’s world image, which were determined by ethnic and cultural value-semantic features: preference of native language, ethnic material and spiritual culture, traditional ethnic and religious values.
