Abstract

The article is devoted to the ideas about the afterworld Yudu according to Zhou and Han written monuments, as well as the analysis of its’ name. According to the author, the image of Yudu as a place where the soul 魂 hun can go, was formed in the south of China, and later the name was used to denote the extreme northern point of the inhabited world
