PARTICULAR FEATURES OF REPRESENTATION OF QUANTITIES IN THE CHINESE AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES WITH REFERENCE TO NOMINAL WORD-COMBINATIONS WITH A MEANING OF ‘CONTAINER’

Abstract

The paper analyzes a system of linguistic means of the modern Russian and modern Chinese languages, in which the meaning of a container is expressed, i.e. which are “metonymic” quantitative symbols. The languages, compared in the research, belong to different types of organization of language (isolated and inflectional, respectively), what determines the differences in the expression of quantitative notions, nevertheless, the universality of quantitativeness as a logical semantic category provides a possibility of identifying common features. The proposed study contributes to the general theory of quantitativeness in languages of the world.

Предлагаемая статья посвящена анализу системы языковых средств современного русского и современного китайского языков, выражающих значение «тара», т. е. являющихся «метонимическими» количественными обозначениями. Сопоставляемые языки принадлежат к разным типам организации языка (изолирующем и флективному соответственно), что определяет различия в выражении количественных значений, тем не менее, универсальность квантитативности как логико-семантической категории предусматривает возможность выделения общих черт. Предлагаемое исследование вносит вклад в общую теорию квантитативности в языках мира.
