The paper is devoted to the problem of literary translingualism in the aesthetic field of Russian-language literature. Translingualism means that a literary work was created by an author «from another culture» with using resources of the intermediate language (in our case, it is Russian). The text itself turns into a «meeting place» of languages and cultures. In the process of contamination of several linguistic and cultural fragments, more complicated language picture of the word appears. A special role in the interpretation of this text is played by precedent phenomena - the elements of a cognitive base common to Russian speakers. Typically, precedent texts functions in the literary work as a cognitive scenario. On the material of the literary cycle «Dreams of the Damned», created by the Kazakh writer A. Zhaksylykov, we examined some precedent texts and came to the conclusion that the Russian literature is a «meaningful field» (domain) for modern Kazakh prose, which is now in the stage of generating the new cultural meanings.
