Colloquialisms in Foreign Language Teaching: The Case of Polish and Italian
Colloquial language, as an essential component of everyday communication, includes numerous colloquialisms – expressions and phrases characteristic of informal speech. This article presents an analysis of colloquialisms in Polish and Italian, highlighting their functions, features, and the cultural and linguistic differences which may influence the use of elements within this language register. The aim of this study is to compare colloquial structuresin both languages and to outline the challengesfaced by translators and learners of Polish and Italian.
