RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE FORMATION OF POLYCULTURAL COMPETENCE IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN CHINA

Abstract

Abstract. The article states that in modern conditions of further globalization of the society the problem of polycultural competence of the young is considerably aggravating therefore many countries are dealing with solving this problem. The research has defined that the People’s Republic of China has valuable theoretical and practical knowledge on the above-stated problem which can be used in Ukrainian universities. The aim of this article is to precise the author’s understanding of the notion of polycultural competence as well as the analysis of rules and regulations to incalculate it to the students of universities in China. For the implementation of this aim the following methods have been used in this article: synthesis, matching, comparison of Chinese and Ukrainian scientists' views on interpreting the notion of polycultural competence and generalization of rules and regulations which control the formation and implementation of polycultural competence among students in Chinese universities. The result of this research is the insight into polycultural competence as well as the content of main state (The Constitution of the People's Republic of China Higher Education, The Law of the People's Republic of China, «The Instructions about the further strengthening and improvement of the propaganda and ideological work of colleges and universities in the new situation») and international (The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, The UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity, The UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, The Constitution of UNESCO) rules and regulations which serve the foundation for its formation among students of Chinese universities. It has been defined that the existing rules and regulations should be enriched by documents which define in more detail the normative aspects of organising and implementing the process of polycultural competence formation among students in Chinese Universities.
