Abstract

The article aims to determine the importance of family, children and family values in the life of state and municipal employees. It is hypothesised that the weakening of positions of the family and child lifestyle, the value of having children are affected not only by individual socio-demographic characteristics and socio-economic conditions, but also by professional employment, the ability to successfully balance work and family, the dominant value system and reproductive norms in society. The study analysed a sociological survey «State and municipal employee: family values» and confirmed the influence of professional activity on the family and reproductive strategies of respondents. State and municipal employees face high demands; they have difficulty balancing work and family. Thus, it is necessary to introduce a corporate demographic standard to provide material and intangible support to working parents.

The article has been prepared in accordance with the decision of the expanded meeting of the Coordination Council on State Family Policy under the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan (Protocol No. 38 dated 03/31/2023) and with the organizational support of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
