Relevance of of the study. Choral singing and choral culture have long traditions in Ukraine. The genre variety of choral works, large number of creative teams including well-known academic choirs, educational choirs of higher and secondary specialized schools, children choirs of musical schools, choruses of boys and choruses of girls, amateur groups, ensembles of songs and dance, again and again has convinced the significance of choral performance in the formation of the spirituality and mentality of the Ukrainian people. Such choir’s polyphony corresponded to the Easter Assembly – Spirituality unites Ukraine, which from the very beginning was conceived as a choral. Therefore, it is logical that the article focuses on the choral vector of the Xth International Easter Assembly. The purpose of the study is to reveal the artistic and social significance of choir performances during the Xth Easter Assembly in 2018, as well as to characterize their creative way, to show the peculiarity and role in the development of contemporary choral performance. The methodology of the study is based on the analytical review of the performances of each of the choral groups that have participated in the Assembly’s activities in 2018.The scientific novelty of the research uncovers the originality of the choir groups that took part in the events. In particular, the creative originality of the youth chamber choirs “Sonores” and “Sine nominee” and the vocal ensemble “Pokrov”, which was not for the first time involved in the events of the Easter Assembly, was demonstrated, showing the perfect performance of sacred choral music. During the Xth Assembly, choral music of S. Rachmaninov was widely circulated being devoted to his 145th anniversary of the birth. The Academy choirs of students, orchestra, choir and soloists of the Opera Studio (conductor E. Savchuk) have taken part in the “Easter dedication to Sergei Rachmaninov”. In addition, the opera Aleko was performed under the baton of S. Golubnichy. The female choir “Prima vista” and choirs of two secondary specialized schools – Kirovograd Music College and D. Sichynsky Music College in Ivano-Frankivsk have performed in the concert of the Easter Songs “Theotokos, my dear, rejoice”. In the concert “Sacred songs” at the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra there were youth groups: chamber choir “Sine nominee” (artistic director N. Tarasenko) and “Sonores” (artistic director B. Prytula). They are completely new choral groups headed by the students of the P. I. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. The choir of the S. Lyudkevich Lviv Musical College and the choir of the M. Glinka Dnipropetrovsk Municipal Music Academy have performed at the concert “From the rising sun to the west, praises the name of the Lord”. The concert of the chamber choir “Renaissance” of Kryvy Rig Regional Musical College (artistic directors V. Zavolgin and L. Krasilnikova) has attracted attention by their perfect performance of God-pleasing singing.Special page of the International Easter Assembly is described as a cycle of concerts of children’s choir collectives under the motto “Children-Easter”. Children’s choirs are workshop of choral singing. One of them is the children’s choir “Swallow” (artistic director O. Ursatyi). Among the children’s choir collectives there are the chorus “Lybid” of the Children’s Musical School No. 21 in Kyiv, the girls’ choir of Kyiv Specialized Secondary Music boarding school named after M. Lysenko and boys’ choir of the Men’s Choir named after L. Revutsky, children’ model choir “Syayvo” of the Nizhyn children’s music school (artistic director Serhiy Golub). For the first time in the events of the Assembly we had the possibility to hear the duet of spiritual and secular cantos of the 17–18th centuries performerd by Tatiana Loboda and Olena Levenko. In their repertoire there are the songs of G. Skovoroda, the psalms from the writing sources madeby P. Demutsky in the early twentieth century from the blind bandura players of the Kyiv region, the old Ukrainian singings from the musical collection of F. Trutovsky, the ancient lullabies and carols from the records of prominent Ukrainian ethnologists of the first quarter of the twentieth century, instrumental music of the Cossack era.Amateur choral art in the program “You, God, glory” was represented by the folk chamber choir of sacred music of the city culture palace in Glukhiv from Sumy region and the youth choir “Svitch” of the M. Gogol Nizhyn State University. In general, in the events of the 10th Assembly were involved the students’choir of the Thcaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine (conductor E. Vacek), male choir from Hungary “Saint Ephraim”, “Askold” chorus of the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on Askold’s grave (artistic director O. Zasadna).Nine singers of the male choir “Saint Ephraim” from Hungary have created a dramatized choral fantasy on the stage of the Great Hall of the Academy. In honor of the outstanding choral conductor Pavel Muravsky, the chamber choir “Moravski” (conductor L. Buhonskaya) has performed the virtuoso program of impressible works.Lesia Dichko’s presentation of choral works was widely publicized at the day of the Assembly.Conclusions. The tenth anniversary International Easter Assembly “Spirituality unites Ukraine” has confirmed the high level of Ukrainian choral performance. During the last years the age of the choirs has become significantly “younger”, the interest in polyphonic, baroque music has grown. Interpreting sacred works, young conductors boldly rely on both classical and modern methods of choral performance. In addition to the works of Paschal content, classical and modern liturgical works by D. Bortniansky, M. Vedel, M. Lysenko, L. Dichko, G. Gavrilets, V. Steppurka, V. Polovoj, T. Yashvili and others are performed in concerts.
