Knowing bukovinian dialect-bearers and being aware of their household, ceremonial and existential statements make up the mental continuum of the dialect bearers and peculiar manifestation of the naïve worldview. Mental continuum is viewed as the unity of language and mentality. Unit of the mental continuum, cognitive model is reproduced in dialectal texts, which have various types of realization. Topicality of cognitive investigations in linguistics aims at pointing out a new aspect of dialectology – cognitive dialectology. Within the frames of cognitive dialectology we strive to present the classification of the statements of the dialect-bearers. Dialect is viewed as the totality of knowledge and storage of national consciousness. Among the statements of the bucovinian dialects three types of knowledge can be pointed out, namely – household, ceremonial and existential types of knowledge, which make up dialect-bearers’ mental (spiritual thinking) continuum, specific manifestation of the naïve worldview.Mental continuum can be divided in two levels: level of thinking and level of language. The outstanding features of the mental continuum on the level of thinking are pragmatism and magic; primitivism can be singled out on the level of language. Cognitive model is a unit of mental continuum, which is embodied in a dialectal text. Dialectal texts of a single cognitive model make up a supertext. Ukrainian dialects have three manifesttations: free spontaneous dialectal texts; usual (partially restricted), partially produced texts; rigid and clichéd folk dialectal texts. Free spontaneous dialectal texts impart about household, ceremonies, ordinary life and belong to non-produced texts, which exist only in the moment of creation. Usual (partially restricted) texts are partially produced, free and spontaneous dialect bearers’ narration. Here belong folk texts, making the mix of produced and non-produced texts. Rigid and clichéd folk dialectal texts can be defined as produced.
