Summary: We propose a method for the computation of upper and lower bounds for outputs of eigenvalue problems discretized by the overlapping modal synthesis method. A brief analysis of the method is illustrated by numerical results. This approach should prove most useful for computations over large structures, in which the best, or even sufficient, choice of modes is not apparent a priori.
