Der Einfluss der innerschulischen Peer-Group auf die individuelle Studienentscheidung

Abstract

Um Übergangsfaktoren in die Hochschule zu identifizieren, hat die bisherige Forschung vor allem die Merkmale von Studienberechtigten betrachtet. Deutlich weniger ist hingegen zur Rolle des Schulkontextes bekannt. In unserer Untersuchung analysieren wir, inwiefern die Mitschüler:innen (Peer-Group) die individuelle Studierneigung beeinflussen. Unsere Annahmen lauten: Je mehr Schüler:innen in einer Schule aus Akademikerfamilien stammen und je mehr Schüler:innen ein Studium planen, desto wahrscheinlicher ist eine Studienplanung bei einzelnen Schüler:innen. Zur Prüfung dieser Hypothesen wurden Mehrebenenanalysen anhand der Daten des Studienberechtigtenpanels des Deutschen Zentrums für Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsforschung (DZHW) berechnet. Es zeigt sich, dass ein höherer Anteil an Mitschüler:innen, die ein Studium planen, die Studienentscheidung einzelner Schüler:innen begünstigt. Die soziale Zusammensetzung (Anteil Akademikerkinder) scheint hingegen keine eindeutige Rolle zu spielen. Dies deutet darauf hin, dass die Peers über Werte und Normen und weniger über die Informationsweitergabe die Studienentscheidung einzelner Schüler:innen beeinflussen. Insgesamt konnte dargestellt werden, dass die Schule ein wichtiger Sozialisationsraum ist, in dem Bildungsentscheidungen beeinflusst werden.
