Model Predictive Algorithm for A New High Gain Transformer-Less Inverters with Leakage Current Elimination

Abstract

Single-phase grid-connected Transformer-Less inverters are widely used to connect solar PV systems to the utility grid. A new topology for high gain Transformer-Less inverter for grid connected systems has been proposed in the paper. It consists of six power switches, two inductors, two diodes, two capacitors and a filter at the inverter output level. Even though the model predictive control is complicated in implementation, it is faster and more accurate compared to other control schemes. The MPC algorithm operation is verified on a high gain Transformer-Less inverter in MATLAB/Simulink.
