Le journal Le Monde est réputé pour son ouverture internationale et son intérêt pour le modèle scandinave. Il constitue donc une belle source d’histoire immédiate afin de cerner l’évolution récente de la compagnie aérienne norvégienne Norwegian Air Shuttle entre 2017 et 2023. Cette présentation de documents permet ainsi de compléter l’article paru dans le numéro 25 de la revue et consacré à l’histoire initiale de cette compagnie depuis sa création en 1993 jusqu’en 2016. Après l’apogée de 2017-2019 Norwegian Air Shuttle connaît de multiples difficultés liées à son endettement et à la crise de la covid. Elle échappe de justesse à la faillite mais doit renoncer aux vols long-courriers transatlantiques.
Le Monde is renowned for its international outlook and its interest in the Scandinavian model. It is therefore a good source of immediate history to identify the recent development of Norwegian Air Shuttle between 2017 and 2023. This presentation of documents complements the article published in issue 25 of the Review, devoted to the initial history of this airline from its creation in 1993 to 2016. After its heyday in 2017-2019, Norwegian Air Shuttle experienced a number of difficulties linked to its indebtedness and the covid crisis. It narrowly escaped bankruptcy but had to give up long-haul transatlantic flights.
