ANALYSIS OF DRUG USE TRENDS IN ADOLESCENCE

Abstract

According to a number of studies, the first sample of psychoactive substances occurs in adolescence and in the future the frequency of using narcotic substances as a way of escape from reality increases. For the first time, a large-scale survey of 1st year students of the Novosibirsk State Medical University was conducted. As part of the implementation of the state anti-drug policy, we conducted a large-scale social and psychological testing 591 students of University of Novosibirsk, the average age is 18.4±1.2 years, among them 146 (25%) are boys, 445 (75%) are girls. The method of the experiment includes a specially developed author's questionnaire aimed at identifying trends in drug using. The results obtained in the article are extensive and large-scale. The authors condacted multi-aspects analysis of trends in the initiation of drugs: age of first using, frequency of use, the amount of consumed substances, the influence of the social environment. This article shown that the experience of drug use is noted among 1/10 of the subjects and 55% of the subjects evaluate this experience as a positive. At the same time, 39% of the subjects have repeated experience of drug use. 90%, among those who have tried these substances , have friends who using drugs regularly and 86% of the subjects trying the same substances as their friends. Based on the obtained results, the authors propose recommendations for the preparation of a program aimed at preventing the use of psychoactive substances.
