Abstract

Fils d’une famille de commercants de Smyrne, Xenos aurait du faire carriere dans le commerce ou l’armee. En fait, il a ete entrepreneur, ecrivain, armateur, industriel, audacieux et novateur, il a voulu ouvrir un monde nouveau et renover la Grece pour la rendre plus forte. Mais dans son impatience il se brouille avec tous, il mele le sentiment profond, ici le patriotisme, aux affaires et a la politique, c’est ce qui fait sa specificite, sa grandeur, mais aussi sa perte, car l’argent, la politique et le sentiment collaborent rarement.
