Abstract

Este artículo presenta una reflexión científica sobre el sentido de la memoria histórica en diversas localidades del oriente de Chalatenango (en la zona central-norte de El Salvador) y en el norte de Morazán, en donde se desarrolló el conflicto político-militar a partir de la década de 1970. Los relatos de los actuales habitantes de estas localidades hablan sobre la vida de sus poblaciones antes del conflicto, lo que sucedió durante el conflicto armado y la reconstrucción de sus poblados después de los Acuerdos de Paz. Este discurso histórico es de gran trascendencia para entender la construcción de la cultura en la sociedad contemporánea y su proyección hacia el futuro, constituyéndose en fundamento ideológico para la creación de un nuevo tipo de sociedad y de cultura a principios del siglo XXI.
