Abstract

Este artigo apresenta os fundamentos da abordagem psicanalítica de orientação lacaniana sobre o transexualismo e sua prerrogativa de mudar de sexo. Analisa-se a hipótese diagnóstica da psicose, sustentada por Lacan, em oposição ao diagnóstico de transtorno da identidade de gênero, sustentado por Stoller e pela classificação psiquiátrica contemporânea dos transtornos mentais. Discute-se o modo como cada abordagem compreende a diferença dos sexos e suas conseqüências: do lado da abordagem biológica, a diferença sexual seria um efeito dos determinantes biológicos do organismo e o transexualismo um fenômeno típico do contexto da disjunção entre sexo e gênero; do lado do discurso analítico, a diferença sexual seria um efeito do discurso e o gozo transexualista seria um pendor fora da ordem sexual. Com base na orientação lacaniana, interpretam-se os efeitos do gozo transexualista na certeza sobre identidade, no desejo muito enérgico de redesignação sexual e na passagem ao ato da cirurgia.
