SPANISH AND RUSSIAN PAROEMIA AS SOURCE OF CREATIVITY: A COMPARATIVE STUDY

SPANISH AND RUSSIAN PAROEMIA AS SOURCE OF CREATIVITY: A COMPARATIVE STUDY

Abstract

The article analyzes the problem of variability in the form and content of paroemias in Russian and Spanish Internet discourses. Purpose. The work is aimed at identifying the linguistic mechanisms of generating utterances that go back to stable units of culture, as well as interpreting the conceptual structure of the transformed paroemias that arise when communicants implement the creative function of language. Methodology. During the study of the material, the methods of semantic, conceptual, and intertextual analysis, carried out in the framework of a comparative study of traditional and new paroemias of various linguistic cultures, were used. Results. The analysis of the material showed that in most cases the creative potential of units of the Spanish and Russian phraseological corpus is reflected in a metaphorical shift in the cognitive structure of paroemias, in the recombination of frame components of the situations reflected by them and in the formation of new mental formations (blends) that integrate fragments of models of the world from different eras. At the semiotic level, such utterances are classified as intertexts. Practical implications. The results and main conclusions of the article can be used in further research on the problems of the national phraseology evolution, the influence of the language of traditional culture on modern folklore genres, as well as the problems of Internet communication, verbal creativity and intertextuality.
