
The article deals with the feature of prose by M. I. Tsvetaeva, based on the system of defining. The author defines such concepts as denotation, signified contextual metadefinition and relative definition. The author explains terms of the thematic group with invariant meaning "Science". In the process of analysis the author uses different types of metadefinitions. The conclusion is made that in the poet’s texts descriptive, enumerative and negative metadefinitions prevail.
