Abstract

Ejemplo máximo de barroquismo, Cobra (1972) de Severo Sarduy exagera hasta el infinito el artificio del lenguaje. Desdoblamiento de los personajes, escamoteo de sus identidades, ruptura de la voz narradora y de la instancia de la enunciación, problematización de los elementos constitutivos del relato -categorías de espacio, tiempo, causas y consecuencias, jerarquización de sucesosinterpolaciones, repeticiones de fragmentos son algunas de las estrategias textuales utilizadas con esta finalidad. El propósito del trabajo es explicar cómo el lenguaje, puesto de este modo en el centro de la escena, se inscribe en la obra como un objeto fetiche que, en un doble procedimiento, oculta y devela, en un mismo tiempo, las carencias constitutivas de la obra: el Sujeto, la Historia y la Literatura.
