
G rafitili ali slikani napisi so lahko votivnega značaja (posvetila boštvom), lahko označujejo lastništvo, posredujejo m erske (volumen) ali trgovske podatke (vsebina, naslov, datum) ali pa kakršenkoli vzklik. A vtor obravnava štiri grafitne napise n a keram iki, najdene v antični Faventiji (danes Faenza). Dve sta oznaki lastništva, prvi na ram enu am fore: L (ud) Vib(i), drugi n a sigilatnem krožniku z žigom P. A tti in sicer z ženskim suženjskim imenom Hedone. N ejasna sta nasled[1]nja dva, prvi na sigilatnem lončku s črkam i eorte, m orda pomotoma za forte, morda m išljeno grško r.ogrrj praznik; drugi, tudi na zgodnje avgustejski čaši, z besedo oratio, ki dobiva izrecno religiozni značaj šele v kasni antiki, p ri čem er obstaja možnost, da je imela ta pomen v vsakdanjem govoru že poprej.
