Abstract

A Cliometria e a Nova Economia Institucional são as principais escolas que norteiam a produção acadêmica em História Econômica por parte dos economistas brasileiros, norte-americanos e europeus. Embora já contando com alguns anos, ambas são pouco conhecidas pelos historiadores brasileiros. Este artigo procura apresentar quais são os fundamentos teóricos de ambas as escolas, suas origens e algumas de suas limitações.
