Abstract

The school, as a multidimensional and interdisciplinary place for students, must provide comprehensive education, and the Physical Education area is committed to contributing to it, favoring the educational practices corresponding to this discipline, such as corporeality and motor skills, mediated by play and ludic activities, according to the Curricular Guidelines for Physical Education, established by the MEN in 2022. To this extent, this article provides an explanatory study with the 1103 class of the Juan Luis Londoño de la Cuesta Educational Institution, in the municipality of Mosquera, Cundinamarca, where 17 males and 23 females are observed, analyzing the perception they assume of their socioemotional skills through the emotional intelligence inventory of Bar-On (1997) combined with a pre- and a posttest. The aim is to identify the effects of implementing the methodological strategy in black theater for strengthening socioemotional skills. The action research method is applied in collecting information with a blended approach (qualitative-quantitative). The results conclude that this type of active strategy is assertive, favors collaborative work, tests problem-solving skills, favors communicative processes, develops multiple dimensions, helps recognition and acceptance, and has an integral impact, benefiting not only the academy but also the students' life in general. It facilitates recognizing the individual, the other, and their environment through corporeality and movement.
