Waldorf pedagogy is a significantly present in the world of early an preschool education. In the Republic of Croatia, it is an alternative form that is less known to the general public. It was founded by Rudolf Steiner in the early 1920s in Austria. Principles that differ from usual practices are: practicing eurhythmia, annual / monthly / daily rhythm of working with children, developing a sense of rhythm and living with rhythm, freerwork with realistic tools and various natural materials and working with children depending on their temperament. At the end of the paper is presented the relationship between Waldorf pedagogy and practice in state kindergartens, but also the similarities and differences with the National Curriculum for Early and Preschool Education (2014)
