The article examines the relation between the biography of an individual and history of a nation. The following theses are raised: the biography of an individual, recorded into the political context, becomes a factor for its development; the political entirety is an existential and linguistic environment of the life of an individual; the individual creates the biography by entering his own existential history into the environment of the said mutual interrelations. According to the author, the biography is a factor of the political formation (fraternity), where the individual existential project is nurtured and the fight for openness. The statements are illustrated by examples from the history of Lithuania and Poland. The framework of democracy and its forms are examined. According to the author, there is no standard of democracy, there exist different forms of democracy as a symbiosis of principles of rule. The author states that democracy as a symbiosis is good not only by the abundance of its layers, voices and records, but also by its ability to form a cohesive political body, serving the existential development of its individuals.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjamas individo biografijos ir tautos istorijos santykis. Iškeliamos tezės: individo biografija, įrašoma į politinę aplinką, tampa jos plėtros veiksniu; politinė visuma yra individo gyvenimo egzistencinė, kalbos ir rašto aplinka; individas kuria biografiją įrašydamas savo egzistencinę istoriją į šią abipusių sąveikų aplinką. Pasak autoriaus, biografija yra politinio darinio (brolijos), kur puoselėjamas individualus egzistencinis projektas, kovos dėl atvirumo veiksnys. Tezės iliustruojamos pavyzdžiais iš Lietuvos-Lenkijos istorijos. Nagrinėjama demokratijos sąranga bei jos formos. Pasak autoriaus, nėra demokratijos etalono, tėra įvairios jos formos kaip valdymo principų simbiozės. Teigiama, kad demokratija kaip simbiozė gera ne tiek savo sluoksnių, balsų ir įrašų gausa, kiek geba sudaryti rišlų politinį kūną, tarnaujantį savo individų egzistenciniam tapsmui.
