Water as the most important life resource in today's world is endangered, and its lack leads to the emergence of water stress that is considered to be one of the most important problems faced by certain states of the world and their population. Potable water needs are getting bigger, and stocks are diminishing every day. Different climate changes and disasters in regions such as Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, and South and South-East Asia cause a high level of water stress with which their population is struggling on an everyday basis. Migration of the population is mentioned as a consequence of the occurrence of water stress in the mentioned regions. Population mainly migrates within its own country to developed cities, and there is also regional migration where the population moves towards neighboring countries. The question arises as to how destination countries and cities are facing the upcoming population. The paper seeks to demonstrate that water stress ultimately can cause the migration of population that is in search of better living conditions, and migration becomes a choice when people have no other options.
