Sinizm ve sınıf bilinci

Sinizm ve sınıf bilinci

Abstract

With the publication of Peter Sloterdijk's Kritik der zynischen Vernunft in 1983, cynicism has become a subject of frequent discussion in philosophical literature. Cynicism takes its name from Kynicism, a philosophical movement initiated by followers of Socrates in Ancient Greece. Kynicism is a practical anti-idealism, ethical life, criticism, satire and resistance. However, with modern times the word -by losing its meaning- has become the name of the false consciousness that critique of ideology does not affect and strategy of justifying authority with irony for self-preservation. In this study; concepts of cynicism and Kynicism are explained by taking Sloterdijk's Kritik der zynischen Vernunft to the center. In addition to the explanations of these concepts, disagreements over the concepts and critiques of the concepts has also been tried to be presented throughout the study. The concept of `enlightened false consciousness`, which is the most distinctive definition of the concept of cynicism, was handled around the idea of Enlightenment. By discussing how Enlightenment interprets the concepts of subject and consciousness, the limitations of cynicism formulation as `enlightened false consciousness` have been questioned.
