Abstract

This article analyses the relations between Portugal and Galicia during the first decades of the 20th century as a possible example of irredentism that substituted the Iberism of the 19th century. The conclusion is that Portugal's irredentism and Galician reintegracionismo were both very weak and were not accompanied by any political or institutional action comparable to that seen in other European regions, especially those north of the Adriatic Sea.
