PRODIGE is a 3-year structural reform project that organises the deployment of high-quality Digital Education (DE) in Georgia. The project is developed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the National Agency for Quality (NCEQE) and 10 pioneer HEIs in Georgia. They join force with HEIs from Belgium, Croatia, Estonia and Spain, the Estonian Agency for Quality and an international accreditation and an universities network. Together, they build a favourable environment involving all HE stakeholders and put in place the mechanisms and structures for the development of a high-quality DE in Georgia.At national level, the project supports the Ministry to ensure the evolution of the regulatory environment. A legislative package organises the deployment of Digital Education as an integral part of the Higher Education portfolio. This new educational offer is regulated by a specially-designed Quality Assurance framework designed by NCEQE. In the 10 Georgian universities, the faculty, management and support staff are trained to the combination of pedagogical and organizational aspects necessary to create a conducive teaching and learning environment for DE. Each institution develops its strategic plan for DE and elaborates the roadmap for its implementation. Dedicated resource centres are created to support the development of DE and provide accompaniment and expertise. It leads to the launch of 50 modules at the end of the project, making DE a reality in Georgia. Training materials, regular national round tables raise awareness, build recognition and pave the way for replication and development of DE programmes in all Georgian HEIs.
