Abstract

[ES] El Atlántico oriental, en la zona del NW de Africa comprendida desde Cabo Verde hasta un poco más al norte de Cabo Blanco es de interés por encontrarse en ella la zona de contacto entre el Agua Central del Atlántico Norte y el Agua Central del Atlántico Sur, que forman la capa de agua subsuperficial y en la capa superficial se encuentran, agua de la Corriente de Canarias y de la Contracorriente Guineana en una extensión que varia según la época del año y depende de la intensidad de los vientos alisios y de la Contracorriente Ecuatorial que es muy variable alcanlzando su máxima amplitud en verano. Con el fin de conocer la variación estaciona1 de la distribución de las variables químicas se han realizado campañas oceanográficas en épocas diferentes del año. Las dos primeras fueron, una en el mes de marzo y otra en agosto-septiembre cuyos resultados ya se han descrito anteriormente por FRAGA y MANRÍQUEZ (1975) y FRAGA (1973). En esta comunicación se describe la situación durante el mes de noviembre, de la que se ha hecho un estudio previo de la distribución de masas de agua, MANRÍQUEZ y FRAGA (1978a) que sirve de base para la interpretación de la distribución de las variables químicas. [EN] The distribution is studied of chemical variables Salinity, pH, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate and silicate in the northwest Africa zone around Cape Blanc between 16º 30' N and 23º N and from 22º W up to the coast, from the sur-face to a depth of 1000 m. [...]
