Abstract

Der vorliegende Text untersucht anhand von Aussagen von Museumsbesucher:innen, welche Vorstellungen von Naturwissen in der Öffentlichkeit existieren. Entlang mehrerer erkenntnistheoretischer Achsen – erfahrungsbasiertes versus abstraktes Wissen, anthropozentrische versus biozentrische Perspektiven, objektives versus normatives Wissen, Lernen versus Handeln sowie implizites versus bewusstes Wissen – wird herausgearbeitet, wie vielfältig, spannungsreich und kontextabhängig Naturwissen aufgefasst wird. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass Naturwissen nicht als einheitliche Kategorie verstanden wird, sondern sich in einem dynamischen Spannungsfeld zwischen Alltagsbezügen, ethischen Haltungen und wissenschaftlichen Deutungen bewegt.

This text explores public understandings of knowledge about nature, based on responses from museum visitors. It examines these understandings along several epistemological axes: experiential versus abstract knowledge, anthropocentric versus biocentric perspectives, objective versus normative knowledge, learning versus action-oriented knowledge, and implicit versus explicit knowledge. The findings reveal that knowledge about nature is not perceived as a uniform category, but rather emerges within a dynamic field of tension between everyday experiences, ethical positions, and scientific interpretations.
