Abstract

El libro ofrece un análisis exhaustivo sobre el papel fundamental que desempeñan las competencias digitales en el ámbito universitario contemporáneo. La obra examina cómo la convergencia entre tecnología y pedagogía ha transformado el quehacer docente, estableciendo un nuevo paradigma educativo. Se abordan conceptos clave como las competencias digitales docentes, sus dimensiones y su impacto en la práctica pedagógica. Asimismo, se profundiza en la alfabetización digital como elemento central del desarrollo profesional, destacando la importancia de la formación en el uso educativo de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC), así como en la innovación didáctica mediada por tecnología. El texto muestra un estudio realizado en el contexto universitario peruano, presentando un estudio empírico. A través del análisis de datos recolectados en cinco universidades públicas y tres privadas, se evalúan las competencias digitales de los docentes en tres dimensiones principales: alfabetización digital, didáctica con TIC y creación de contenidos digitales. Los hallazgos revelan niveles heterogéneos de competencia, así como diversos desafíos estructurales y formativos que deben ser abordados. El libro concluye ofreciendo recomendaciones estratégicas para fortalecer la capacitación docente y promover una integración efectiva de las TIC en la educación superior peruana. La obra resulta imprescindible para gestores académicos, formadores y docentes interesados en mejorar la calidad educativa en entornos digitales del siglo XXI.
